About Me
Veronica Persaud, MSW, RSW
With a passion for fostering resilience and empowerment, I am a skilled and compassionate psychotherapist offering evidence-based and trauma-informed care to individuals and families. Backed by over a decade of experience in diverse therapeutic and case management roles, I specialize in helping clients navigate complex challenges, including grief, trauma, relationship issues, safety concerns, and mental health conditions.
Therapeutic Approach
I employ a holistic and client-centered approach, drawing on an extensive repertoire of therapeutic techniques tailored to meet each client's unique needs. Proficient in modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), narrative therapy, somatic experiencing, motivational interviewing, and Family Systems Therapy, I ensure clients receive personalized, effective support.
With specialized training in trauma-focused care, I integrate a lens of equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) into my practice, creating a safe, non-judgmental environment for healing and growth.
Professional Experience
Currently serving as a psychotherapist at Toronto East Therapy, I provide individualized support to adults facing grief, loss, trauma, and other life transitions. My experience extends to working as a Case Manager in post-secondary education settings, where I developed safety plans, conducted risk assessments, and supported individuals navigating harassment, violence, and other crises on and off campus.
I also bring extensive experience from my roles working with victims of crime. I provided immediate crisis response and longer-term support to individuals and families affected by crime, tragedy, and systemic challenges. Their ability to conduct comprehensive assessments, create actionable safety plans, and connect clients with vital resources has made me a trusted advocate and ally for those in need.
Education and Credentials
I hold a Master of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto, specializing in Mental Health and Health, as well as a Bachelor of Social Work degree from York University, graduating with honors. I am a Registered Social Worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers and Social Service Workers (OCSWSSW) and a proud member of the Ontario Association of Social Workers (OASW).

Whether supporting individuals navigating trauma or coaching families through conflict, I am committed to creating an environment where healing is possible, and clients can thrive.
